We caught up with Maria Egan, Vice President and Director of Shareholder Engagement at Reynders, McVeigh Capital Management, about how she approaches ESG as part of financial planning and in the overall dialogue with clients.
She notes that it’s easier to have conversation with clients when it’s simply a part of the regular process of helping them reach their goals. “It’s not that you have to have these gushy, emotional conversations with clients. It’s more about understanding what they want their legacy to be...Let’s figure out what your financial goals are and what you want your legacy to be, and in the footprint of your portfolio, let’s align it.”
